Genetic Moo's 'Interactive Art is the Best' Exhibition Comes to Leicester

Genetic Moo’s Interactive Art is the Best comes to the Phoenix Café Bar in Leicester from 10th September 2026 to 7th January 2027. Twenty prints document the interactive digital art of Nicola Schauerman and Tim Pickup, whose collaborative practice spans more than two decades.

The exhibition follows their development from early experiments to large-scale installations in galleries, museums and public spaces. Photographs and printed works show how creative coding, collaboration and play invite audiences to become part of the artwork. The Leicester presentation is organised with Interact Digital Arts and the Computer Arts Archive, following the exhibition’s earlier showing at BCS Moorgate in London.

The accompanying book, Interactive Art with Genetic Moo, is commissioned by the Computer Arts Society. It explores the duo’s ideas and working methods, with contributions from artists, researchers, curators, producers and others involved in their projects. A free PDF and paperback edition are available.

A related event, Genetic Moo: Inside the Artwork, takes place at Phoenix on Monday 7th December 2026 at 18:00. Introduced by Sean Clark, it offers an opportunity to explore live artworks and marks the Leicester launch of the book, with signed copies available. Entry is free, but places are limited and advance booking is requested.
