Ivona Tau is a photographer and artist working across generative AI, computer vision and conceptual image-making. She holds a PhD in Artificial Intelligence from the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology and is based between Warsaw and Vilnius. She develops custom-trained neural networks from personal and collective photographic archives, treating each model as a partial, unstable form of memory. Her work explores memory, reconstruction, archives and the shifting boundary between documentation, speculation and synthetic imagery. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at bitforms gallery, Christie’s, Unit London, Galerie Met and the V&A. She was a 2025 Lumen Prize finalist and a Speculative Agency Award winner.
