Artist
Suzanne Treister is a British artist whose work explores the relationships between technology, power, science, history and belief. Since the 1980s, she has developed projects using photography, video, diagrams, fictional identities, tarot and online media to investigate hidden systems and alternative histories. Her exhibitions include the Science Museum, London; the Victoria and Albert Museum; ZKM, Karlsruhe; the Hartware MedienKunstVerein, Dortmund; and the Biennale de Montréal. Her work has also been shown at Tate Modern Lates and the Warburg Institute. Treister’s practice connects research and speculative narratives, examining how institutions, technologies and systems of knowledge shape our understanding of the world.
